Confirm the page
Open hotstar.com. On other sites the popup correctly shows Open JioHotstar because its control is intentionally unavailable.
Open JioHotstarSwitch once
Open the popup and use the labelled Ad Blocking switch. The decorative power dial activates the same control.

If playback began before the state changed, reload the page from Chrome. The optional reload setting can do this automatically.
Still not working?Common answers
The popup says Open JioHotstar.
The current tab is not a supported hotstar.com page, or Chrome did not provide its URL. Open hotstar.com in the active tab and reopen the popup.
I still see an advertisement.
JioHotstar can change how advertising is delivered, and results vary by region and content. Reload the page once. If the advertisement remains, send the page type, region, Chrome version, and what appeared to Folner support. Do not include account or payment information.
A sponsored banner or empty space remains.
Open Settings and confirm Hide Ad Spaces is on. This option removes known sponsored billboard markers and empty ad slots. New markup may require an extension update.
The switch changed but playback did not.
A request may already have been in flight. Reload the active JioHotstar page from Chrome, or enable Reload Tab After Switching so the active tab reloads after future changes.
The toolbar count looks different from what I expected.
The count records genuine ad endpoint attempts detected locally. Tracking pixels and the ad SDK loader may be blocked but are intentionally not counted as ads. The count rolls over when the local calendar day changes.
How do I clear local activity?
Open Settings and select Reset Statistics. You can also clear extension data or uninstall the extension to remove its locally stored preferences and activity.
