Vanta ships with 50+ built-in filter lists. This page explains what each category blocks and how Folner approaches filtering decisions.
Vanta blocks third-party advertising networks by default. This includes display banner ads, video pre-rolls, interstitial ads, native advertising widgets, and ad-serving infrastructure. First-party editorial content is never blocked.
Third-party tracking scripts, pixels, and beacons that follow you across websites are blocked by default. First-party analytics that a website uses to understand its own traffic are generally not blocked.
Vanta includes optional annoyance filters that block cookie consent banners, newsletter sign-up interruptions, and other intrusive overlays. These filters are not enabled by default. Website owners may consider these elements mandatory; by enabling annoyance filters, you assume responsibility for compliance with those sites' terms of use.
Vanta includes filters for known malware distribution domains, phishing pages, and deceptive download sites. These lists are maintained by the security community and are enabled by default.
Vanta includes region-specific filter lists for users in specific countries. These lists target local ad networks and trackers not covered by global lists.
Vanta does not participate in any "acceptable ads" or whitelisting programs that allow ads by default in exchange for payment. Every default-blocked domain is blocked because it meets filter list criteria, not commercial considerations.
If Vanta blocks something it shouldn't, you can pause Vanta on that site or add it to Trusted Sites. If you believe a false positive should be reported, please contact support.
Vanta uses publicly available filter lists maintained by the ad-blocking community. All filter lists are covered by their respective open-source licenses. Folner does not modify filter list content.
