Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
The short version: Flique runs on your device. It doesn't track your browsing, doesn't require an account, and doesn't sell your data. Your download history, when enabled, never leaves your computer.
Who we are
Flique is a Chrome extension developed by Folner ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Flique does and doesn't do with information when you use it.
What Flique stores on your device
- Settings: your preferences (quality, theme, panel position, and similar) are stored locally using Chrome's storage so Flique works the way you like.
- Download history (optional): off by default. If you turn it on, a list of your completed downloads is kept locally on your device. We never receive or upload it, and you can clear it or auto-expire it at any time.
What Flique does not do
- We do not track the pages you visit or build a profile of your browsing.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the extension.
- We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
Permissions and why they're needed
Chrome requires extensions to declare permissions. Flique requests only what it needs to detect and save video:
- Access to site content: to detect video on the page you're viewing.
- Downloads: to save files to your downloads folder.
- Storage: to keep your settings and optional history on your device.
- Network requests: to fetch the video segments needed to assemble your download.
These permissions are used solely to provide the downloading features and never to surveil your activity.
Optional issue reports
If you choose to send a report (for example, a site that isn't working), only the information you provide on the report form is sent to us. Reporting is always your choice, and we ask that you not include sensitive personal information.
Children's privacy
Flique is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Flique evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
